Literature Text

A pretty flower in a garden
With rosy and soft petals
The envy of each one maiden
If they saw,
Behind the bars of metal

She is neither noisy nor silent
A head or two she'll make turn
On her own ignoring the current
She feels out,
Yet determined to follow the sun

They protest they say she's mad
Rubbish on her without a chance
To grow and get a lad
They block her,
Rays don't reach, not even a glance

The pretty flower now withers
Pale and such a worn-out sight
As the mighty walk in glitters
Never seeing her,
As nothing more than mere blight
There are many reasons as to why I wrote this poem, but the most important reason is the fact that I cannot understand the reason as why things are the way they are, why "the mighty walk in glitter"
aaaaand I don't mean twilight X3

Your poems are always so inspiring and touching! I really love this one, the way I interpret it it's how the society and its rules ruin a person (I could've gotten it wrong, I dunno ^^;) Almost like the quote from MCR; would you destroy something perfect in order to make it beautiful?
But I dunno, I just read the poem and liked it :XD:
